SkyCut Grit Roller | for D24 / D48 Dual Head Cutting Plotter
The SkyCut grit roller is the drive shaft under the media on the SkyCut D24 and D48 dual head cutting plotters. Its gritted sections work with the pinch wheels above to move vinyl, sticker sheets, cardstock and carton board in and out while one head cuts and the other creases. If jobs start to drift, skew or lose registration, a worn grit roller is a common cause.
Why the grit roller matters on a dual head plotter
On the D24 and D48, the creasing head and the cutting head both work on the same job. The media has to come back to exactly the same place for every pass, or fold lines and cut lines stop meeting. A healthy cutting plotter grit roller is what keeps that feed straight and repeatable.
Crease and cut stay aligned
Steady grip means score lines and cut outlines on box samples and cartons line up, pass after pass.
Grips heavy board
The D series cuts with up to 2,000 g of force. The grit roller has to hold thick cardstock and carton board firmly against that load.
Accurate contour cutting
Straight tracking keeps printed stickers and labels in line with the camera's registration marks for clean kiss cuts.
Long, straight roll jobs
For vinyl rolls up to 1,350 mm wide on the D48, even grip across the roller stops the media from walking to one side.
