SkyCut Grit Roller | for V / VH Series Cutting Plotters
The SkyCut grit roller is the drive shaft under the media on all SkyCut V series and VH series cutting plotters. It is the same width roller on every machine in both series. Its gritted sections work with the pinch wheels above to move vinyl, radium and retro reflective film, heat transfer vinyl and sticker paper back and forth while the blade cuts. If long jobs start to drift, skew or lose contour registration, a worn grit roller is a common cause.
Why the grit roller matters on V and VH plotters
V and VH plotters are built for wide rolls and long signage jobs. Every centimetre the media moves is driven by the grit roller. When the grit wears smooth, the media slips, and cuts stop landing where the design says they should. A healthy vinyl cutter grit roller keeps the feed straight and repeatable.
Long jobs stay straight
Even grip across the roller stops vinyl from walking to one side on long banner, lettering and vehicle graphic runs.
Holds tough radium film
Both series cut with up to 2,000 g of force. The roller has to hold reflective and retro film firmly against that load.
Keeps up with servo speed
VH models move media at up to 1,200 mm/s. Fast back-and-forth feeding needs sharp grit that does not slip.
Accurate contour cutting
Straight tracking keeps printed stickers in line with the camera's registration marks for clean kiss cuts.
